Self Reliant Garden 2012
I have had more than a few inquiries as to when should seeds be started for spring planting, and TODAY is the day! You can plant in the garden now all kinds of lettuce, spinach, radishes, and peas. All of these like cool spring weather!
Here is an easy chart to tell you when to start seeds and when to set them out, begin to harden them off 7-10 days before the transplanting outdoors date. All you eager beavers who started tomatoes early are still okay. You might need to transplant then into several larger sized pots and fertilize them regularly before it is time to harden them off!
Aside from the usual retailers and catalogs, Ebay is a great place to find heirloom seeds, and remember if possible buy organic!
