Vertical Garden Make It and Take It Night
219 Monroe St, Washington, Il 61571
Brink your husband and make it a date!
We will be making the pallet vertical gardens for you to take home. Pallets, chicken wire, and landscape fabric will be provided. If you have tools like: Staple gun and 1/4 inch staples, gloves, wire snips, or hammer, please bring them. Your kids are welcome, I have a nice paly set, sand box, and swings, or they can watch movie inside if you prefer.
Directions from Morton: Take 150 East to Main Street. Turn Left (North) and head to Washington. At the square, take a Right at the stop sign and go around the square and continue North on Main St. After the Rail Road tracks turn Left onto Monroe and continue about two blocks up. My house is a small (micro) white house on the Right just before the stop sign. Walk up the drive way and we will be around back on the patio. We have a shared driveway so please park on the street. There is parking on both sides of the street that should make it easy.
I hope everyone will come and make on of these neat gardens!

Self Reliant Garden Tip 4
Self Reliant Garden
What to start this week and what to direct sow in your garden.
As spring gets underway, the wonderful weather urges us to plant!
It's now time to start these seeds indoors for setting out later:
TOMATO!!!, Eggplant, Fennel, Peppers, Basil, Marjoram, Sage, Thyme.
* If you started tomatoes and other seeds already, check for signs they need replanted like, roots growing out from seed pots, wilting, and yellowing.
Just stick the plant in a larger pot, fill with dirt, and fertilize with a water soluble fertilizer like miracle grow or an organic fish emulsion.
And these you should direct plant in your garden or containers:

Peas- both shell and snow(edible pod), Potatoes, Radishes, Spinach, Turnips, Chive, Cilantro, Parsley.
Wait until last frost date of May 15th to sow Cucumber, pumpkin, summer squash, winter squash or you may start indoors in a few weeks.
