Embroidered Christmas Pillow

Materials:

· Muslin, 6”x9”

· Fabric

            Two 2 1/4”x9” pieces for top and bottom borders

            Two 9 1/2”x6” pieces for side borders

            One 9 1/2”x20” for back

· Buttons, 4 red

· Embroidery Thread

· Needle

· Batting

· Pattern

· Sewing Machine

· Iron

Instructions:

1. Transfer desired pattern onto muslin using a light window and a pencil.

2. Embroider design using needle and thread. Avoid taking thread from one area to another as it will be visible from the front.

3. Using a 1/4” seam allowance, sew top and bottom borders onto muslin. Press to the outside.

4. Sew side borders onto muslin. Press to the outside.

5. Using needle and thread, sew one button on each of the four corners of the muslin.

6. With right sides together, sew front of pillow to the back, leaving a four inch gap at the bottom.

7. Clip corners and turn.

8. Stuff pillow with batting.

9. Hand stitch opening closed.
