· 6” x 12” piece of
fleece
· 20-25 4” ribbon
pieces, various thicknesses
· Brown felt for nose
· Batting
· Fusible Interfacing
· Thread/Needles/Scissors/Pins/Marking
Pencil
· Sewing Machine
Instructions:
1. Cut two circular pieces
of fleece, using template provided.
2. Trace nose template
onto fusible interfacing and iron on to wrong side of brown felt.
3. Cut out nose,
remove paper from interfacing and position on one piece of fleece, ironing in
place.
4. Satin stitch around
outside of nose to hold in place. (Foot A, Stitch #8, 2.0, 0.3)
5. Mark eyes and sew.
(Foot F, Stitch #25, 7.0, 0.3)
6. Mark mouth and sew.
(Foot F, Stitch #27, 7.0, 0.3)
7. Determine order of
ribbons around edge of plushie. Fold ribbons in half and pin to right side of
blank fleece with fold toward the center and raw edges extending 1/4” outside
edge of fleece. Pin all ribbons in place, approximately 1/2” apart along edge.
8. Using a 1/4” seam
allowance, sew ribbons in place around outside edge. Remove pins.
9. Place right sides
of the two fleece circles together. Ribbons will be on the inside. Using a 1/2”
seam allowance, sew around the circle, leaving a 1 1/2” gap at the bottom.
Turn.
10. Stuff plushie with
batting.
11. Sew the opening
closed with a good old-fashioned needle and thread.
